Customer Question

my new batteries are being drained in about 12hrs.
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: they read 3vdc under load, when I removed them they read 10v. They are brand new Interstate marine 27's.
JA: What is the model/year of your RV?
Customer: 92' 27 Terry
JA: Are you fixing your RV yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I noticed when I connected the batteries out in the woods I connected the positive first, because of location of connection, then connected the ground I got a lot of arcing in the negative terminal. I know in older cars this would indicate a draw on the battery.
