2006 mercedes sprinter motorhome engine runs fine we were driving fine now we have no forward reverse nothing

Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the car? Is it an automatic or a manual transmission?

Its auito 72000 miles

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Sprinter yourself? What have you tried so far?

We are stuck on the highway presently

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

A quick fix if possible its almost like its in limp mode

we checked added a liter of ATF just in case it was low but still nothing other than that we are stuck

Since you are on side of the road lets try resetting if it is in limp mode & we go from there

Master reset Procedure

1- Disconnect Battery Cables ( Negative & Positive Cables )you can use any electrical wire as an extension if battery cables don't reach .

2- Hold cables Together for 60 secs ,then let go

3- Wait 30 minutes

4- Make sure all doors are closed

5- Reconnect battery Cables

6- Lock & unlock the vehicles using the key from driver door side (if you have a key fob with no blade key, just lock & unlock using the key fob buttons)

7- Enter the vehicle and attempt to start

okay , unfortunately not much we can do with out having it scanned

the fact fluid is not low ,that leaves ,TCM module or electrical failuer?

I m sorry not what you want to hear ?

It will need to be scanned with Mercedes star scanner or equivalent to be accurate and pull up troubleshoot to why

losing it suddenly not gradulay ,most likley electrical or module issue than internal failure but testing is needed to be accurate

I m sorry ,tcm module is a common failure
