JA: What is the model of your '01 RV?

What is the make and model of the A/C and the controls?

Disconnected thermostat and still hums

The thermostat just controls the control board. That controls the relay. If the control board isn't allowing the relay on the compressor to turn off, then it will hum OR there is an issue with the compressor itself. Testing is needed here to find out which it is. Some of these are hard to find parts for any more.
