I got a 95 Dodge van 5.2 liter engine with a rear main seal

Customer Question

I got a 95 Dodge van 5.2 liter engine with a rear main seal leak, I did add a sealer it didnt help. Repair is expensive around $650.00. Should I replace the engine oil in case the sealer does more damage than good at this point?
JA: When was your last oil change?
Customer: About four months ago, and driven less than 500 miles.
JA: Are you fixing your 9-5 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No way I can do that myself except taking it to my mechanic
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: if I were to have it repair is $650 in line with todays market?

Hi my name is Robert....

Yes I would change out the oil and oil filter, rather be safe then sorry on this. 650 to replace the rear main seal is a very good price on this and I would go with it......

Hope this helps some.... Robert.
