Have an 83 Ford Engine in our motor home and it won't run.

Customer Question

Have an 83 Ford Engine in our motor home and it won't run. No gas is getting to the carb. Have blown out the gas line, replace the electric pump by the gas tank and replace the manuel pump in the motor and still no gas to the engine. What now?
JA: When it comes to this particular vehicle, have flat tires been a problem in the past?
Customer: Had a blow out this summer when it was sitting in our driveway.
JA: What is the model of your '83 Ford?
Customer: E350 Econoline with a Edelbrock carb
JA: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Have replaced the coil and the distributor cap and rotor.

If you can spray starter fluid into the carb and its fires up, then you have to remove the float bowls on the carb, and clean out deposits, if that's not enough the carb must be removed from the vehicle and thoroughly cleaned to remove deposits from the needles, thats where the fuel gets into the stream. but the bowls full of deposits is common issue. hope that helps.
