up my RV to my house. I'm told I must have a 30 amp breaker plus a dedicated line of 10-2 wire to run the RV air conditioner. True?
JA: Have you checked all the fuses? Do you have a wiring diagram?
Customer: no & I don't have a wiring diagram.
JA: What is the model of your '10 RV?
Customer: it is a 1980 Nomad.
JA: Are you fixing your RV yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: as far as the wiring, no I am not going to do the work myself.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

This is basically true, IF you want to have no problems with it. You can get away with lesser service on cooler days, but once the ambient temps rise to hot summer weather it can cause low voltage and higher amperage spikes and damage the A/C. As these age, they usually start using more amperage anyway. If any extension cord is used, then definitely. Hope that helps here.
