Customer Question

I HAVE A Onan Marquis 7000 in a 1993 Bounder RV. The gen starts great from its fron panel start switch. From the coach start switch it cranks, sounds like it will run but when you release the start switch it dies.
What 3 or 4 things should I check and eliminate as the source of the problem?

The most common cause of this is that the genset is no longer producing any electricity.

But check the oil and make sure it is full. Low oil pressure will also cause this.

I guess I should of said "starts great, runs great and generates electricity when started for the front of the gen.In the coach, I can't get it to start. Nor can I turn off the gen from the coach once started from the gen. Front panel.Oil is topped off.

Then you have a short or a broken wire somewhere in the remote harness.
