We have purchased a 2015 Chrome Fuzion 401 Crossover

Customer Question

Hello
We have purchased a 2015 Chrome Fuzion 401 Crossover equipped with a cummins 5500 onan gas generator. Before we took it home the dealer showed us how to get the generator started, so that was not a problem. The problem arose when we tried to get any electrical power within the camper - NOTHING is connected to any power. Is there some extra power button on either the camper or the generator that is an adaptor to use the generator?? Everything works with the normal plugin & it worked when we plugged into a different generator. Please advise.
Thank you

Hi my name is Robert....
So do you have to plug the generator into a cord to allow power into the RV or is it automatic? You start the generator and then have power?
On some set ups the generator cord has to be plugged into an outlet next to the generator, on others it is automatic.
Also I assume when you run the generator you have no AC power inside? That would be the outlets, microwave....

OK
Make sure the breakers on the generator are not tripped, most all generators will have 1 or 2 breakers on them. IF you have checked them and it is not producing AC power then most likely the problem is at the Automatic Transfer switch, the ATS detects the incoming source and switches between shore and generator power, when the relay fails you will get no power on one source. SO it might be best to have the dealer deal with this one if the breakers on the generator are not tripped... Hope this helps some... Robert
