The power converter will only charge when you are plugged in or the generator is running, it will take the AC power and make the DC voltage. When the engine is running the batteries would be charged from the alternator Via a battery isolator so the converter is out of the picture. The battery isolator allows both the chassis and house battery to charge So you should not have to worry about the converter. Hope this helps some... Robert
