You did everything possible to get this to work, disconnecting the AC voltage and the DC voltage was the proper thing to do then trying the reset... So this is going to be an issue with the thermostat or the circuit board inside the AC unit. What I might do is get a hold of a RV shop in your area and see if they have a test thermostat to see if it will respond correctly.... You would be rolling the dice getting a new thermostat but it would much cheaper then the upper circuit board, so I might have a shop diagnose this to see what is going on....
