Customer: I have a 26' TT and my hot water tank does not light, the igniter is sparking but no propane is being delivered. I switched propane tanks so I know there is propane. Also both the stove burners and refrigerator work. It was a fairly cool evening when we set up. Can the propane valve on the tank stick in cold weather and can it be replaced?

Hi my name is Robert.....
In the shop I would check the LP pressure at the water heater, this can be difficult for the owner because a manometer is needed.... The LP pressure needs to be 11" of water column with other appliances running. IF you are in doubt of the main tank regulator go to the main valve, slowly shut the valve and then slowly open it back up, do not turn it back from the full open position..... Sometimes if the valve is opened up to fast the regulator can lock up..... IF the stove and fridge works the water heater should also be working.... What I would do is clean the area out under the outside access. Get an air nozzle and blow out the burner tube really good, sometimes bugs can get in there and you will not get ignition. The other issue could be the gas valve or circuit board. When you get spark the gas valve should open up at the same time and allow for ignition, this is a signal sent from the circuit board. A shop can test the circuit board to see if it is good with a special tester.... SO before having a shop have a look I would blow out under the outside access, slowly open and shut the main LP tank valve and make sure you have over 10.5 DC volts... IF you still need help please get me the make and model number of the water heater, I should be able to send you a service manual that will show how to check each component..... Robert

The burner tubes are clean, one important thing I should have mentioned is there was no propane smell, I thought either the solenoid on the tank valve stopped working or the valve itself was sticking in the cooler temps. There was also a light buzzing sound coming from the panel.

That is fine, respond when you are ready, I check daily and will respond. I am hoping to send you a service manual so you can do some troubleshooting, you will also need a volt meter... Robert
