hello, my inverter seems to be working but i am not getting any power to any plugs on the outsioutletde of the coach when my inverter is turned on, i have a 41 ft mandalay coach, i think the inverter is a 2200 not completely sure , i wasnt sure if the plugs on the outside should work on the inverter, seems to me we used to plug into my dads motorhome a few years ago to power up our camper, am i just imagining this or am missing something small or could my inverter not be doing its full job, it does work, just not everywhere, the other thing is when i plug into a house outlet with a 15 amp breaker it always blows the breaker, no matter where i have my incoming power allowance set, is this normal, do i have to have more available amps or what ?no problem when i plug into 50 or 30 amp service. also can i plug into a 220 dryer plug and will my coach accept it with the 50 amp cord, plug etc , probably a dump question eh ! oh ya and i'm from canada , says it all eh!!!

Hi, my name isXXXXX of all I believe all you outlets should work on the inverter. Simple test, check them with the generator running or on shore power. I think this is a case of a tripped GFI outlet someplace on the RV that is running the outside plugs. If the plugs work on generator or shore power but not on inverter then you may have one of the two breakers on the inverter tripped.

Do the test first, start the generator, check the outlets, if no power look for tripped GFI, if there is power kill the generator and check the inverter breakers.

As for tripping the house breaker, yes you need to have more then 15amp available to connect up a large coach like yours.

You 220 dryer plug. Wow, yes you can but remember you do not have a 220vac motor home, what you have is a motor home with two 120vac lines coming in. At an RV park even though you are plugged into a 50amp service it is not always true 220vac in phase. You house is. In the USA some dryer plugs have only 3 prongs, two 120vac and one common. You need to also have a ground on an RV as it is sitting on tires. I will send you a picture of how the plug should be wired if you want to use your dryer plug.

hi tony, thanks for replying and yes this did help, just one more question where would i look for the kicked breaker, would it be one of the gfi plugs outside or would it be on the inverter itself ?

Hi again, Sorry this has taken so long, I was kicked off line and just got back on. Your GFI will be one of the outlets. They are the same as the outlets you would find in your house. One GFI outlet will control several outlets in the RV. Push the test button on the outlet and make sure it trips, then press the reset button. If you cannot trip the GFI or reset it then you have not power on it. Yes it could be out side but it could be on the inside as well, maybe in the bathroom or in the kitchen area. Also if you cannot find a bad GFI you may want to look behind the refrigerator, they sometimes put them there.

Your inverter may have two breakers on it. They look like little white buttons. If the button is out then it is tripped. Push it back in.
