Slid..the seal at the top front is just catching at the edge…

I have a 2001 Discovery...

I have a 2001 Discovery with two slid-outs. The bedroom slide is not ligned up properly and the seal at the top front is just catching at the edge of the opening while the rear is past the opening. top and bottom are also not in line with opening. I just noticed this and have no idea how long it has been this way. I need to know if there is a way to adjust it. Thank you!

Hi, this is Michael, the bedroom slide does not have much adjustment. What I would like you to do is go underneath the coach, and inspect the brackets that go from the chassis to the floor,,,,,, I have seen a problem with this coach in that the supports are insufficient, and break allowing the floor to fall onto the chassis, creating an out of square situation with the sidewall. Where the slide out stays square, the sidewall and opening get out of alignment.................Now as for the front slide , there is more adjust ment, and I'll tell you how if you need it also...........Thanks

This slide is the closet with the sliding doors. I see nothing but carpet in the bottom and can't feel any brackets or anything under the carpet.

the mechinism is under a false floor,,,,,,,,,,,however, the brackets I am refering to are under the coach, and do not relate to the slide out.......They relate to the chassis to coach floor support, I have seen some on the Discovery actually rust, and come off and this is all that keeps the floor inline......if it has fallen it will rack the side, making the slide out look misaligned, but whats really happening is the slide is ok, the wall has moved,,,,,,,,,,,,Ck this first,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This slide has a single motor and track in the center. There is no rust and all of the bolts and nuts are tight. There is no play in the operator.

Yes I know what you are talking about, and you can actually move the slideout with your hands.......That is why it is important to go underneath the motor coach and inspect the chassis and the chassis to floor attatchment points........Because the slideout is where the slideout is going to be with little or no adjustment.........So I want you to check the structure of the motor coach, to make sure that there is no movement of that connection,,,,,,,,Wait until tomorrow when its light, crawl underneath with a flashlight, and take a look, this is very important.........and thank you for accepting

I spent an hour under there today and found nothing broken, loose or rusted. I even tried to move the different parts with a bar and was unable to do so. If this slide moves on the floor like it seams to is it possiled the floor has dropped at the rear corner and allowed the slide to lean?

Yes, thats what I am refering to, So you can see why its imparitive to look at it closely, and see if there is some re-engenering there that has to take place, I've done a few of these......................ck both sides of the chassis pass side and drivers side look at the space between the floor and the chassis normally it will be about 1 1/2 inches, if for some reason its is in some places and not in others, this will be a telltale to the problem
