Renault Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hi, either the belt has snapped, come off or the crankshaft pulley has broken up if it is of the rubber torsional vibration damper type.
Are you able to pull the belt out? If so it has snapped.
Are there any unusual noises?
I have marked the crankshaft pulley with a red arrow in the following image if you are able to inspect it.
There is a inner solid mass, a rubber connecting ring and then the outer pulley mass if it is a torsional damper type.
If the rubber has broken up, the inner will spin and the outer will not.
The outer would be able to move on the inner also.
