Why do some Korean people only want to marry other Korean people

Resolved Question:

Why do some Korean people only want to marry other Korean people? Are they racist?

Hello, and thanks for your question.

Many people, not only Korean people, find it important to marry within their enthnicity and religion, to propagate their own people, and keep family traditions alive, and no, they are not racist. If people marry outside their race/nationality/religion, they feel that part of their cultural heritage will be lost; however, many people who marry outside their race, will discuss with their [future] spouse how important it is to them, to keep their traditions and heritage alive in the marriage and in their children. Most couples are able to work this out well, so the children know they are from parents of different cultures, and both will be encouraged, as the children grow up.

I hope this helped you. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
