I have been dating this man for about 3 months, but I have

Resolved Question:

I have been dating this man for about 3 months, but I have known him for approximately 2 years. I am the first woman he has been with since his divorce which was 7 years ago. However, we have not had yet. Partly because it has been so long for him and he probably feels he has forgotten. I'm really not sure. He has his reasons which I will probably never figure out. Anyway, what is bothering me is that he recently handed me $500.00 in cash. He wouldn't take no for an answer - I took the money because he wouldn't allow me the time to think about it as he was very pushy about it and I needed to appease him for the time being. Now that I have had the time to think about it, I realise that I am not comfortable accepting the cash and would like to give it back. I feel he is putting a financial tie on this relationship. In a sense I find it a little controlling. What is your advise?

Explain to him how you felt about him giving you the money he may just be trying to buy your affection and doesn't know how to win your affection himself because he has been out of the loop for so long. He may have truly wanted to help you out with giving you the money and saw that you were being leery about accepting it and that is why he insisted that you take it. I think you should tell him how you feel and hopefully you will get the truth as to why he gave you the money and what he expects from you and the relationship. If there are warning signs go with your gut instinct. If you feel he is trying to control you with the money then do not accept it no matter how much he insists that you do. Explain to him that he cannot buy your love and that you want it to happen naturally and not be pushed on you.
