I have the $30 roku device. When viiewing movies on Amazon…

I have the $30...

I have the $30 roku device. When viiewing movies on Amazon prime, there are frequent stops with na message saying not enough broadband. Would a more costly roku device solve this. Please explain.

Technician's Assistant: What does your TV screen look like when you try to connect your digital media player? Is there anything at all displayed?

I get what appears to be the standars ROKU scvreeen. I can make my choices OK. The problem is that the movie being shown stops due bandwidth insufficiency. How do I corect this? Do I needa a better ROKU device?

Technician's Assistant: The Video Technician will be able to walk you through that. Is your digital media player connected to the TV, or is it connected to a power outlet?

I beieve the power comes from a wall plug. I use a DDMI connector, i believe. (I am not at my TV now. I am on my computer in an other location.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Video Expert to know before I connect you?

I don't thimk so.

I don't know. My son set it up. It has always been good for other uses. What speed should it be?

OK, it should be minimum 10MB/sec

You can test the internet speed on your computer which would be connected to the same modem by clicking the following link and reply back with the result

My son says the sprrd is above 540 he believes.nothimg more.

R a test using link you provided. The resuit between 75 and 80 mb/sec

That is a very good speed, how far the wifi modem is located from the Roku Stick location?

Test result: between 75 to 80 mb/sec. My TV is in back of house, away from the router in the office. Is that a possible cause?About 80 feet.

Yes, it could be a cause as the Roku stick wouldn't be getting a strong wifi signals

You can verify it by taking this Roku stick to the nearest TV, if possible

OR place the internet wifi modem somewhere close to the Roku stick

OK, more expensive Roku device won't do anything better because it still needs a strong wifi signal for a better internet connection
