What is happening?
What do you mean by "when I of to watch hgtv"?

If you see “Error 001” and the message “not connected” in the upper right corner of the TV screen, it means that your Roku device is not connected to a network. Then select Try Again.
If that does not work, please let me know.
This is a software error.
To overcome Error code 006 you will need to rapidly press the home button 5x the ff button 3 x and rew 2x on your remote to bring up a hidden screen.
Select Update Software and press OK. This should force a software update.
You may also need to re-pair your remote to the Roku using the button under the remote battery cover.

Error code 006 is a software error, so if the reboot did not help then the Roku device will need to be returned.
It is unlikely that this problem is caused by subscription or parental guide settings, however you can check those if you wish by logging into your account at https://my.roku.com
