Error 8 is a TOC error.

Do you intend to troubleshoot this yourself?

if reasonable

You will need to check the alignment of the magnetic puck with the puck lifter plate first - when the CD is in place the puck MUST be centered in the hole in the lifter, with no drag whatsoever on either the sides or underside of the puck flange (lifts the puck up via the lifter plate).

It is easy to tell if you have had drag by simply removing the puck and flip it upside down. Drag is visible as wear on either the side or underside of the flange on the puck.

If there is no drag or wear with the puck, then there is likely a power supply issue - you will need a multimeter to carry out some checks and replace any faulty components found.

The Cd does not spin. There is no apparent wear issue
