Hi welcome to just answer,

I understand that the cd is part of a boom box and you select it on the switch or remote.

Can you hear cd spinning? Have you tried to clean the laser?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Can't hear CD spinning. How would I clean the laser?
Expert:  electronicsguy replied 11 months ago.

To clean the laser, please purchase laser cleaning cd from your local Walmart or radio shark.

Once the laser cleaning is done try to play a cd and let me know the results.

How can I clean the laser with a cleaning CD if the CDs are not spinning?
Expert:  electronicsguy replied 10 months ago.

Well this is a tough one. If the cd is not spinning, there is now any other way to clean the laser. We first have to dig down the system components to identify the problem that is preventing the cd from spinning.

Can you open the cd tray? If yes, them we might have to take the system apart to look at its components. Would you be comfortable taking the system apart?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I can open the cd tray, & would be able to open up the unit. What shall I do?
Expert:  electronicsguy replied 10 months ago.

On the back of the system, there are holes that are holding the screws are used to hold the front face of the system. Carefully, power the system down, disconnect the power cord and speakers. Take all the screws that are holding the front face. You should make sure that all the screws are removed from all the corners and sometimes on the middle. If there are problems taking the fact apart, then there might be a screw that is still in place.

Once the screws and faces are taken apart, then look at the cd player and if you can power the system on and try to play a cd and verify that it is not spinning.
