I can not get any channels on auto search
JA: What's the make/model number of your device? How old is it?
Customer: philips dvdr3455h
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: the unit has not been used for over 5 years. It was purchased in 2007

I am assuming you are using an antenna the antenna is going to the unit and from the unit to the antenna IN on the TV?you are carrying out a sweep search the unit is indicating it is searching completing the task and reporting nothing found is that correct please?

I am also assuming you are sure the antenna is good?

Have you tried using another output of the DVD?like composite red\white\yellow so you will need three phono leads and this should marry upto the TV , so its antenna into the DVD player composite out of 3 leads to the TV, the tuner in the TV itself may not accomodate the player so this method will bypass that, let me know
