How are you doing - hopefully better than me In the
Hi - how are you doing - hopefully better than me In the beginning of August my hot water faucet was just bearly dripping hot water out from the faucet- so I was thinking to replace the hot water valve faucet and end of problem- haha Oh I mean to say that things didn't work out like I planned cause on Nov 14 - i have to go to my Condo for a Home Qwner Association meeting to defend myself cause they want me to pay over 4000$ in water damages that happened that night when I tried to replace the hot water faucet vauve on my kitchen sink , the main hot water valve didn't close properly cause it was over 35 yrs old- and when you turned it off it felt normal like everything was perfect - it turned 7 or 8 half turns to the close state which is normal , but in reality the hot water valve never did close and once I removed the braided hot water hose/line the hot water shot out from the valve like a fire hydrant - also being extremely hot so after grabbing it for 3 seconds your hands were burning , I tried many time to reset the braided hose line but the pressure was too strong / so I wrapped towels around the value with a large cooking pot to catch the water and then switch the full with empty pouring it into the sink . At this time my bottom neighbor knocked my door yelling , I scream come in and asked him please call a plumber ASAP cause someone needs to shut off the main water to our building, and he did that which the plumber arrived 1.5 hours later And I needed him to turn the hot water off cause they never gave a specific key to any resident- in case of an emergency to shut off any water supply anywhere in our building ..When he arrived to my unit hot water was everywhere and when he came my kitchen sink I told him please turn the main hot water to our building off for 2 mins then after the 2 minutes please turn it back on cause I just needed to reconnect the braided water hose /lines which I did it in only 1 minutes with no problems and that certain job should only cost 310$ - at a later date I called up that plumbing company and ask how much would a emergency water turn off /turn on cost and the lady said for a quick simple shut off. / then back on should be no more than 350$ , so my question is why is my bill over 800$ for me cause I certainly have no idea - this plumber is a very dishonest person cause when I connected the hot and cold water lines back up it took less than 1 minutes and it was perfect no leaks at all , so I hope this plumber will showed up to HOA meeting cause I really want to question him for the ridiculous charging , I feel that way way to much especially when I told him 2 or 3 time ( only off 2 minutes and then back on !!! Anyway I feel this in not 100% my fault because of the 35 yr old defective valve .. Oh my upstairs got no damage but a good cleaning but downstairs had some minor issues , tho there fire alarm got water in it so that next day I called HOA and they told me I wasn't responsible for it but 3 weeks later they gave me 1400$ bill for that fire alarm- mmmmm lovely people - oh a note : when I told the plumber to turn the hot water bock on he insisted that he just wanted to double check all the work for leaks and I told him there were no leaking issues in the beginning then he said - he wants to check everything for his own comfort zone and this time is on him / will not be charged for this and then I agree to do whatever you like but in reality he did charge the company cause I asked him to do only 5-10 minutes max of valve opening and closing but charge the company 3.5 hrs for the job - what a lying looser guy .. The next day the tenets below said there fire alarm had water damage and needed to be replaced, so I immediately call up HOA and spoken to a lady there and explain what happened and she said the HOA is responsible for the fire alarms and I said great - so why in 3 weeks I'm getting a 1200$ fire alarm bill - so you see I need some help or a bit of some good advice for m … read more
