My question is regarding tenant law... Florida. I have a
I have a balance due on March rent that ive tried to make good on but have a had a few obstacles because of the bank and then the current situation of the country. Im currently stuck in another city and need to get back to FL to even take care of the balance due. Im being threatened with eviction over less than 1/3 of the total rent. Evictions arent even being ordered at this time, though a landlord can file it wont be enforced til the mandates are lifted. I have tried to communicate with the landlord, but he is only listening to the real estate agent that signed the contract, as a guide. Things have been escalated unnecessarily by her and at this point im done talking, as im being told im a troubled tenant. This is the 2nd month of rent paid, as i just moved in in Feb, and theres literally only 1/3 of the total due. It seems silly to me that they would want to go thru eviction processes when it most likely wont happen anytime soon... At least not for 2wks. I have tried explaining things but am pretty much being told im lying or making excuses... … read more
