R. I was served an Eviction Notice from the property owner (
I was served an Eviction Notice from the property owner (Keith Worthan, 5 Payton Place, Buchanan) on 12/31/2018. I am required to respond within 7 days.I was invited to move into the home at the owner and his wife's invitation (I am the owner's wife's aunt) at no charge of rent in exchange for boarding two outside dogs and two inside cats that were already on the property.dogs. Mr Worthan enters my house with his key without notifying me prior to coming to the property. He is of the opinion that since he is the property owner he can enter without notice. Last week, while I was out of town he and four of his friends moved a gigantic old piano that does not belong to me into the property without asking permission. I told him at that time he cannot enter the property without my permission, the piano was not mine and to remove it. He said he didn't have room in his house.. Last week while I was sleeping he entered the house with his key. I asked him politely not to do that (enter without permission); he left. A few hour later I heard a noise at the foyer door, I determined that Mr. Worthan was moving furniture in the house .I again reiterated that he must notify me prior to entering the property. At that time he screamed at me that this was his house and he could enter when he wanted and he didn't need permission. Not knowing if he would cause bodily harm I called the police. The police came and we talked without resolution, While the police were here Mr Wortham stated that he was going to file eviction and I was served. There is no lease only a verbal agreement, I would not be responsible for utilities. Mr. Worthan's wife (my niece) offered the use of her extra vehicle with me being responsible for normal maintenance. While the police were here Mr Worthan demanded the key to his wife's car and it was given to him. I live in a rural with no transportation to doctor's appointments, to the grocery store for food, drug store for required medication.Since there is no lease agreement, I not a Tenant at Will which has a 60 day Notice. … read more
