I moved from my primary residence in Concord, NC to Charlotte NC last year in August of 2018. I still own this home that I've owned since 2007. I got a tenant in my home in December of 2018. I have an HOA board constructed of 4 board members one of whom I know personally because we worked together for a period of time and are in constant communication. Long story short, I wasn't getting my mail at my new residence. I had extensive conversations with one of the board members about a rental cap they were proposing. In addition, attended the board meeting about this rental cap prior to december of 2018 before my tenant moved in to make sure the rental cap wasn't going to affect me. In other words, they all were aware that I moved and had my forwarding address My HOA dues are 240 per year. It's a small community with about 100 homes. I never received an invoice via email which they had, nor did they ever attempt a phone call.
