Good Afternoon from Texas.

Lawyer's Assistant: What steps have been taken so far? Has any paperwork been prepared or filed?

Bruce wants to know if a household, man and wife, in an HOA with a single vote on HOA matters has 2 voices at HOA monthly meetings. Only one voice was allowed in a monthly HOA meeting last night in Lewisville, Texas.

Lawyer's Assistant: Has she talked to a TX lawyer about this?

I have not talked to a lawyer. Searching the internet for documentations.

Lawyer's Assistant: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?

No mam.

I have been on the HOA board for 6 years. Due to age, I retired. My subject matter is when can a resident talk. I always allowed the residents to discuss there opinion. 2 to 5 minutes. Again, we went down minutes, Treasurer report, Project updates, contracts, etc. I always felt that the residence run the Association and not 5 board members. LAst night as a residence I was given an e-mail that I could not be given a chance to talk until the end of the meeting by THE HOA management services. My time period was for 2 to 5 minutes. Ok, I am sitting there with all o f the expertise. They were many statements that were wrong and people did not have the expertise to even be talking. I am talking aobu the new board with all no experience. Ok, is permissable for me as a residence to get to discuss the matter of each topic or just at the end of the meeting? It does not seem logical that I can discuss and ask questions before a vote by the board. I think I should be heard. If only heard at the end of the meeting, then all voting is done. IF I add something at the end of the meeting and makes them wrong, then it has to be re-opened again by the board and re-voted. Ok, you get the idea I believe. … read more
