Thank you for your question. I look forward to working with you to provide you the information you are seeking for educational purposes only.

In order to have a claim against them, you would need to produce the proof of the tampering. This means you have to produce your copy of the lease or if you do not have one and the manager will not show you the original, you would need to sue for breach of lease and then force them to produce the original in court. Remember, the party alleging a breach of contract or altered contract has the legal obligation to produce the evidence of the contract that was altered.

We're renting a home in southeast Denver on a yearly lease
Hi, We're renting a home in southeast Denver on a yearly lease at $2000.00 a month. The landlord inspected the property in the last sixty days and claims we're in violation of safety laws concerning the storage of boxes and sacks in the laundry room. They contend that the storage presents a fire hazard and a rodent hazard. We disagree. They're demanding the right to re-inspect. We've asked to see the copies of the regulations they're quoting so we can remedy the "problem" before they re-inspect. Otherwise we feel we're just being harrassed. Shouldn't they provide copies of these mysterious regulations before they invade our peaceful hold on the property? … read more
