My realtor and I entered into an agreement that I would pay

Customer Question

Hi Pearl. My realtor and I entered into an agreement that I would pay one months rent for her to look for a replacement tenant. I signed an addendum to the original lease. She told me she found another tenant and that I had to move out by 1 Aug. I found a place and signed a lease. Then yesterday she emails me and said the tenant fell out and I'm still obligated until she finds a new tenant. She said the tenant is in the hospital.
JA: Because laws vary from place to place, can you tell me what state the property is in?
Customer: Virginia
JA: Has any paperwork been filed?
Customer: Legal paperwork? Not yet.
JA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?
Customer: No
