Have you contacted the police department to report the theft of the truck?

(The individuals who are driving the truck that your wife rented are doing so without your permission - this is vehicle theft).

Unfortunately, without you acting on this, the rental company has no other option than to assume that you are complicit in the theft of their equipment.

If you know these individuals, you may want to let them know that law enforcement is coming and that the truck needs to be back immediately and with no damage or the trucking company will be making referrals for arrests (you don't need to tell them that you are the one that is going to be calling the cops on them).
