Under the Indiana adverse possession law, you must possess the land openly, notoriously and against the rights of the real owner for a period of 10 years and during that time you must also pay the taxes on that land. Once the 10 years passes, then you have to file suit in court for ownership by adverse possession and get a court order making you owner on the deed.
