We have taken care of both sides of an abanded ally

Customer Question

we have taken care of both sides of an abanded ally for over 45 years, the orig owner allowed my father to use both sides of the alley way and now that a new owner has bought the property on the other side. He is claiming that for his property. Can after all this time he do that?? We have also used mowed and taken care of the property behind us for at least that long also. what do we have to do to claim this property in dispute now?

Did your father ever obtain a deed or anything in writing from the owner across the alley?
