Does a property/business owner fronted by a public sidewalk

Customer Question

Does a property/business owner fronted by a public sidewalk have any rights to disallow homeless persons from camping within said owners lot line extension on a semi-permanent basis?

Thank you for your question. I look forward to working with you to provide you the information you are seeking for educational purposes only.
A public sidewalk is public. The business can only have someone removed when they are obstructing passage or entry into the premises. Even if it is within the lot line extension, they cannot obstruct passage or entry to your business. The business owner is not going to be able to do anything other than calling the police to remove the obstruction from the lot line extension area.
