We are not in foreclosure. Our mortgage has been sold

Customer Question

We are not in foreclosure. Our mortgage has been sold several times. We refinanced and entered a loan modification program. They have tried several times to force us to resign papers. We signed twice and have refused to sign again. Been making payments and are current. We have asked them to produce the deed/promissory note etc... they have been unable to do so. We would like to sale or refinance but no one willing to work with us until we can show who owns us. What do we do

Hello. I am going to be assisting you with your question today.

Please note: This is general information and is not legal advice. No specific course of action is proposed herein, and no attorney-client relationship or privilege is formed by speaking to an expert on this site. By continuing, you confirm that you understand and agree to these terms.

What you should do is contact the original lender and trace the selling of the debt until you reach the final holder.

Who are you making payments to now? Is it a loan servicing company or an actual lender?
