Customer Question

I'm the owner of townhouse for the last 21 years. The fence of my back yard needs to be replaced for the first time ever.
I will share the cost with the association. Some houses where built with solid wood fences and others with part solid wood and part wired fences. I want my fence that comes with wires to be replaced with the same type.
To be sure my property would be replaced with the same type of fence I have always had, I call the association about 10 days ago. The manager assured me that I would get the fence I requested. Five days later the manager call to inform me that the association had changed their regulations at the begging of this year and only solid wood fences are allowed to replace the old ones.
What could I do to defend my position
I would appreciate your response.

Was this a change in the bylaws? Is the fence deemed a common element?
