A moving company "held us hostage" on a cross country move

from SC to CA....
A moving company "held us hostage" on a cross country move from SC to CA. In the eve we must vacate the house to close escrow (we sold an estate), can a moving company triple their estimate upon arriving and packing our things.?
Also, required by federal law, we were not provided a brochure on our moving coverage, and in duress of the move, signed an Opt out full coverage clause.
