Gm I have a house built by in 2004, the house is in Alabama
the house is in Alabama I live in florida I am Darrel Henderson, my wife and I had Jim Walter build a house for my mother to live in the Prattville, Alabama in 2004. Jim Walter also built my mother's original house in 1960 on the same property they constructed the new house. It wasn't until 2009 that it was brought to our attention that both houses were on the wrong property when there was a notice that the taxes hadn't been paid and would be put up for sale. At that point to keep my mother in her home, we began paying property taxes for the property where the house should have been built and the property that the house is actually on. Unfortunately due to this circumstance as well as a few other unforseen life circumstances, we fell behind on the mortgage and the house is now in foreclosure. The mortgage was sold to a few companies since then and is now with Ditech. Our question for is, Is there any legal way out of this situation we're in and still keep my mother in her home and on the property that belongs to us? … read more
