A local Realtor refuses to show me potential Rental Property

This answer was rated:

A local Realtor refuses to show me potential Rental Property based on a previous disagreement pertaining to the sale of my home some 5 yrs ago. They failed to qualify a potential buyer which resulted in considerable expense to me. It simply was not handled according to Real EatATE LAW.
Now I wish to look at rental property who they represent, and they refuse to allow me to even look. I find in effect that they have Black Balled me for personal reasons.
I have never had a problem in real estate 78 yrs old owned no less than 6 homes, zero financial concerns, and for purely personal reasons i a barred from entering any rental agreements and worse yet the actual owner ,whom they represent is not aware, What do I do?

Hello, and thanks for submitting your question to Just Answer. Even though Realtor's have a duty and right to screen potential buyers/renters, they cannot "blackball" a customer for personal reasons. Did you go through another broker? If not, that would be my suggestion on how to approach the situation now. If you think that discrimination has occurred, a formal complaint can be filed against a licensed real estate broker. Information on that and the form to file is at: .
