I started at a J.I. CASE implement dealer in 1973 and was factory trained in all systems that a large farm tractor utilizes.
1980-1981 I taught Auto mechanics in Devils Lake, ND at Central High School.
I worked at several GM dealerships starting in 1981 through 1983 and have GM factory training for their diesel engines, Computer Command Controls and Advanced Electronic Fuel Injection. I earned 5 NIASE certifications; 3 in Auto & 2 in HD-Truck; in Engine, Trans/Transaxle and Final Drives. When the service manager at Tyrell Chev (where I was team lead for 5 techs) opened the Cheyenne, WY AAMCO Transmissions, he hired me for the startup and management of the service and parts departments.
I was hired at credit union in Devils Lake, as a loan processor learning the requirements of the business. I also did farm accounting and helped the manager create spread sheets to Analyze business loans. The Credit Union needed a major upgrade to their data processing system so I became Their DP Coordinator and managed a conversion from an on-line System, to an in-house mid range IBM AS/400 system. I was then hired by Keane Inc of Boston to work at IBM's Rochester, MN facility where I provided support to high profile customers like UPS, Reynolds, etc. I supported and specialized in the e-commerce web application that ran on the AS/400 and I was afforded many weeks of IBM training over my seven years there. I trained at night learning object oriented programming (C++ and Java mainly) and was able to move from support to development where I performed regression testing and debugging of a their Java framework that is now known as "Web Sphere" The next project was with the programming team that Maintained all the software programs for the manufacturing floor at Rochester and six other global factory facilities.
