Hello! My name is Steve. I will be assisting you tonight.

The error you're receiving is referred to as a fatal error. When the printer is turned on, it performs a self test. It is failing this self test.

The troubleshooting steps for this are:

1. Unplug printer for 5 minutes and try again.

2. Verify transportation lock is removed.

3. Make sure cd tray is closed (not all models)

4, Make sure upper scanner is closed tightly.

5. If carriage moves during startup, verify unrestricted travel.

6. Access the carriage loading area while off and lift slightly and move it an inch

it should move freely. If it feels sluggish, it needs cleaned.

If these don't work, you will need to contact Epson support for service at 1-***-***-****
