Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your DeskJet?

From the beginning my son was just to frustrated to get it to work i've tried to sync it with my phone his laptop it's not working

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the Operating System (OS) on the computer or device you're printing from?

He hasn't updated it my phone is up to date though I have iOS 11.2.6
