Cannon MX340 stopped communicating...

Cannon MX340 stopped communicating with computer to scan pictures which I had to take computer back to factory settings. Works perfectly the other way to print documents.

Technician's Assistant: What kind of computer or device are you printing from?

Dell laptop

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your Pixma?

Several months---since computer problems required me to go back to original factory settings

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the Operating System (OS) on the computer or device you're printing from?

I have no idea

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?
