Hello, I have a Pixma MG5720 printer that needs a new black cartridge. I have installed a Canon 271 cartridge but I cannot get it to work. It does not have the flashing light above it like the other ones do. It is a constant red light instead. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Yes.

Technician's Assistant: Are you getting any error messages? Are you able to open the lid that covers the cartridges on your printer?

No error messages. Yes, I can open the cover over the cartridges.

Hello,

CLI-271 is a correct Ink thank.

Can you try to remove and check that the microchip contacts are clean on both ink cartridge and printer head?

Moreover, when you try to insert the cartridge, do you hear a 'click'? It mean that the cartridge got in the correct position.

Did you use a Canon official cartridge or a compatible one?
