Trying to connect my epson xp440 - to my computer-followed directions- but says my epson connect -registration-is unregistered. Ho do I register

I have an hp laptop

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your XP440?

It is new-has never been connected with computer

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the Operating System (OS) on the computer or device you're printing from?

Not sure- I do get - automatic updates

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?

When is the temporature going to go up in Manhattan?
