After failed xp-440 firmware update now error message: printer mode ink out error retry set i/c

Technician's Assistant: Is your printer displaying the error on all print jobs, even after you restart it?

I can not even get to any print jobs. This is as far as the printer goes when starting up

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the printer driver software?

The computer no longer recognizes the printer; I can not remove the device; can not up date the printer because as far as the computer is concerned it does not exist

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?

This all started after a firmware update
