When I choose to...

When I choose to print, a box pops up that says the computer can't connect with the printer. It tells me to enable a bi-directional something, but the box disappears before I can read anymore. However, the printer works fine, and my page prints perfectly. But... that box pops up instead of the usual box that shows my ink levels. When I try to check the levels on the printer itself, I press the Menu button, and the only settings option I have is WYLAN settings, which tries to connect me to something else. I used to be able to check my ink levels easily. Please help.

I don't know that I have, but this situation just started a week or so ago.
