Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your OfficeJet?

I do not print much. hasn't printed anything in over a month. just wanted to print one coupon.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?

My computer came with a 1 yr free ink. I have only received in that yr 1 color ink, no black. I do not want my computer controlled like this. I think I would rather get my own ink as I seldom print anything.

I want to control "my" printer. I do not need a service. I rarely print anything. I bought the printer and do not know why it is being controlled like this. Can't I use my printer and get my ink when I need it.

Yes, you can. I think there is some bug which doesn't let you do that.

Please go to control panel > Hardware & sound > then devices and printers > do you see your printer there?

My 1st year of free ink ended in November. Why do I have to belong to an ink program now. I want to discontinue HP Insta ink and just get my own.

Now again right click on the printer icon > select printer properties > then print test page.

I do not want your "service". I'll just get my own ink. When I bought this printer they did not tell me I wouldn't have control of it. I do not have money to throw around for questions to answer. This seems like a rip off.
