no luck. screen says printing but nothing happens. There are multible docs in the print queue

One of my replies seems to be missing.
I disconnected the power and left for 10 mins. I then tried to print but with no result from the printer. As I loaded the doc the computer screen gave a download signal , butt here was no response from the printer.

Can you remove the ink from the printer then power it off.
then using a Q-Tip with cleaning alcohol (or warm water if you do not have any), clean out the areas where the ink goes in.
Then use a damp cloth and wipe down the inside of the printer.
Once done, let it dry for 10 minutes
Then put the ink back in, power it on and tell me if it then prints correctly please
This will also allow you to see if any foreign objects are in the printer which may cause this.

that could be fine. However the problem does not seem to be with the printer as it works perfectly when i use another laptop. As an interim measure I printed out the documents . Why should the printer work perfecty with one computer - the laptop - but not with the desktop.

It can be an issue with the printer overheating and causing the error for the desktop

Can you do a clean to rule this out please

Thanks for your help. I will do as you suggest but i have to go out now so it will be done sometime this evening. perhaps the answer is to get a new printer for Christmas!! I have another printer outside so I will connect that up and see if it behaves
