As far as I know have have not updates

The noise has been regular but it has always printed until now

Thanks for the update, the problem you are facing is caused due to mechanical fault on the carraige mechanism. It may be the carraig motor, waste ink absorber or carraige belt, unfortunately, in all the cases you have to send the printer for repair as those parts cannot be replaced at home. Now, if the printer is more than 3 years old then, it will be better to replace the printer because the repairing cost of this printer will be more than the price of a new printer.
