I'm setting up a new Dell desktop system, Windows 10, and want to connect my PIXMA MX420

Technician's Assistant: How long has this been going on with your Pixma?

I have the installation disc. It starts briefly, but then tells me the "prionter drivers are in use - inzstallation failure"

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the Operating System (OS) on the computer or device you're printing from?

It's a brand new computer - intalled from the box yesterday

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?

I was starting to state the problem: the installation disc runs briefly, til it says "Drivers in use - shut down any open programs using printer drivers" - far as I can tell, NOTHING ELSE is running

Please inject the CD, restart your computer.

Download PIXMA MX420 driver from : https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mx-series/pixma-mx420 and install it
