I've never scanned with my Canon Pixma - MG7520,

I've never scanned with...

I've never scanned with my Canon Pixma - MG7520, wireless-print-copy-scan- cloud link. I am not technically sophisticated. A scanned copy of a document is requested from me and I don't know how to do it. I don't know if Pixma is connected to the cloud or what I should do. Barbara

Technician's Assistant: Is there an error code on your printer when you try to scan?

When I put in the paper to scan (should it face down?) The message is "Doc.type Document.PDF 5x7, 300 dpi. setting symbol. placing documents.Local (USB) when I press start nothing happens

Technician's Assistant: When did you last update the printer driver software?

I never have updated printer driver software.

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the Printer Expert to know before I connect you?

I don't know what I should ask. Can I scan with my Canon or do I have to find someone with another set up to do the scan.
